Acis
Acis, in Greek mythology, was a Sicilian shepherd enamoured of Galatea, whom the Cyclops Polyphemus, out of jealousy, overwhelmed under a rock of Mount Etna in Sicily, from under which his blood has since flowed as a river, named Aci, also Jaci or Akis. According to Ovid's Metamorphoses Galatea transformed Acis's blood into a river.Nearby pages
