Adonais

Adonais is P B Shelley's (1792 – 1822) name for John Keats (1795 – 1821). Percy Bysshe Shelley had actually written a pastoral elegy titled "Adonais" in 1821 in memory of the poet John Keats. In the poem Adonais is a fictional character, and used to symbolize the beauty, youth, and cycle of life and death. Adonais, in short, represents John Keats.
