Aeolian mode

Aeolian mode is a term used in music for the natural diatonic scale A-A or natural minor scale which contains a minor 3rd, 6th, and 7th. This musical mode originated in the region in ancient Greece called Aeolis, which was a coastal district of Asia Minor now in Turkey.
