Ainos

Ainos, also called Ainu, is a primitive thick-set, hairy race, now confined to Yezo and the islands North of Japan, aboriginal to that quarter of the globe, and fast dying out. In Japan their population in 2023 was 11,450 according to a survey, which in Russia, 2021 Census revealed their population of only 300. They have their own Ainu languages, however, in Japan they speak Japanese and in Russia they speak Russian.
