Amarpur

Amarpur is a historical village and the block headquarters of Amarpur block in Banka district of Bihar in India. It is situated at about 19 km from Banka town on Banka-Shambhuganj Road.

According to a local tradition, the village was formed by Shah Umar Vajir of Shah Suja, the Governor of Bihar. He rehabilitated the persons who left village Patwai when it was eroded by the river Chandan.
