Ananta Chakraborty
Ananta Chakraborty, popularly known as Bholada, was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born on 6th of April, 1901, and Rakudia, Barisal, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Chandramoni Chakraborty. He joined Yugantar Party at the age of 14. He was known to Sachindranath Sanyal and jati Das. He was arrested in November 1925 in connection with the Conspiracy and Bomb Case and was sentenced to seven years R.I. in this case. He was also sentenced in Bhupen Chatterjee killing incident within Alipore Central Jail ( 28.05.1926) in which he was made an accused by special tribunal, and was sentenced for life term. At first he was sent to Burma Jail and from there deported to Cellular Jail, Andamans in 1933. He joined the two hunger strikes there in 1933 and 1937, for 45 and 37 days respectively. He was repatriated and ultimately released in 1938. His total jail period more than 13 years.Nearby pages
