Aquidneck

Aquidneck is the former name of Rhode Island which is the largest in Narragansett Bay in the United States. The preset official name Rhode Island came into being in the 1630s giving the name of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantation. The Aquidneck Island was likened to the Rhodes Island of Greece and hence it was called Rhode.
