Aratus
Aratus (271 BC - 213 BC) was native of Sicyon, in Greece, promoter of the Achæan League, in which he was thwarted by Philip of Macedon, was poisoned, it is said, by his order.There was also a Greek poet having the name Aratus, also know as Aratus of Soli, who was author of two didactic poems, born in Cilicia, quoted by St Paul in Acts xvii. 28. He flourished in the 3rd century BC.
