Archelaus

Archelaus (d. 400 BC) was king of Macedonia, and patron of art and literature, with whom Euripides found refuge in his exile.

There was also a general of the name Archelaus (died by 63 BC) who served under of Mithridates of Pontus, who was conquered by Sulla twice over.

Another Archelaus (23 BC – c. AD 18) , full name Herod Archelaus, was the Ethnarch of Judea, son of Herod, deposed by Augustus, died at Vienne.
