Ashvini

Ashvini is a name of two deities in Hindu mythology and also a name of a constellation.

In Indian astronomy, Ashvini is name of the first of the twenty-seven constellations or lunar mansions which consists of three stars. The name of presiding deity of this constellation was also Ashvini, who was a daughter Daksh. Her husband's name was Som.

Ashvini is also an epithet of Sangya. She was a wife of Surya. She had hidden herself in the form of a mare.
