Aspidistra

Aspidistra is a bulbous plant native to eastern Asia. It has broad tapering leaves, as is often grown as a houseplant. It belongs to the genus Aspidistra, and the family Liliaceae. It derives its name from the shape of the stigma which is like a shield (aspid in Greek).
