Assam Vidhan Sabha Election 2026

Assam Vidhan Sabha Election 2026 was announced by the Election Commission of India on March 15, 2026. The term of the Legislative Assembly will expire on 20.05.2026. Election will be held on all 126 seats out of which 9 are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 19 are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST). Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was not carried out in the state, but Special Revision was done with reference to the qualifying date 01.01.2026. The final electoral roll was published on 10.02.2026. Number of electors in these state were 2,50,21,408, out of which 2,49,58,139 were general and 63,269 were service voters. Number of young electors of 18-19 years of age were 5,75,258. Total PwD electors were 2,03,709, Third Gender 343, and Senior citizens of over 85 years of age 1,04,238. The number of polling stations were increased to 31,486 as against 28,650 during Lok Sabha election 2024.
