Availability Factor

Availability Factor is a term used in electric generation and supply. It is calculated on the basis of availability in percentage term.

For example, in a power producing unit it is a percentage representing the number of hours a generating unit is available to produce power (regardless of the amount of power) in a given period, compared to the number of hours in the period.
