Barca
Barca was formerly a Turkish province in the North of Africa, between Tripoli and Egypt. Ottoman Turks conquered the region in 1521, they used the Turkish form "Barka" for the province. It produced maize, figs, dates, and olives. The Ottoman province of Barka, or Cyrenaica, was dissolved as part of the larger partition of the Ottoman Empire after World War I, with the territory ultimately becoming part of the Italian colony of Libya following the Italo-Turkish War in 1912.
