Batwa

Batwa is a name of a group of indigenous people of Central Africa. They are also referred to as pygmy people. The term Batwa is plural of Twa, a member of this community. They inhabit parts of Burundi, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo formerly known as Zaire. They are oldest recorded inhabitants of the Great Lakes Region in Central Africa.
