Biflation

Biflation is F Osborne Brown's term introduced in 2003 in economics for a situation in which inflation and deflation exist together in an economy. Such a paradoxical situation is created when there is a general inflation in the commodity assets while debt-based assets undergoes a deflation due to central bank's measures of monetary spigots in a bid to stimulate the fragile economy to recover. Prices of certain things go increasing while some others undergo decline.
