Discount to Net Asset Value

Discount to Net Asset Value (NAV) is a term in finance for the difference between the higher Net Asset Value and lower market price of a closed-end mutual fund. Discount to NAV occurs when investors start selling their holdings at lower prices than the value of their assets anticipating dismal future outlook in the market.
