Iron Hand

Iron Hand is a nickname given to Goetz von Berlichingen (1480 – 1562), a German (Franconian) Imperial Knight (Reichsritter), mercenary and poet, called so because he wore an "iron hand", a device made of iron in his right arm after he lost it in the War of the Succession of Landshut, in 1504.
