JOHN ERSKINE

JOHN ERSKINE (1695-1768), a Scottish jurist; called to the bar in 1719; became professor of Scots Law in Edinburgh University in 1837, resigned 1763; author of two important works on Scots Law, "The Institutes" and "Principles".
