John Evelyn Denison

John Evelyn Denison (1800-1873), popularly known as Evelyn Denison, was a British statesman, son of John Denison, born at at Ossington. He was Speaker of the House of Commons from 1858 to 1872. He was elder brother of Edward Denison the bishop of Salisbury, William Denison the colonial governor in Australia and India, and George Denison the a conservative churchman.
