Karl Christian Rafn

Karl Christian Rafn (1796-1864) was a Danish archæologist, born in Fünen. He devoted his life to the study of northern antiquities. He edited numerous Norse MSS and executed translations of Norse literature. He also wrote original treatises in the same interest, and by his researches established the fact of the discovery of America by the Norsemen in the 10th century.
