Political Futures

Political futures is a term in finance for an investment for which the payout date is set after the announcement of election result. Investors are paid multiple times if the candidate they chose wins, but not paid anything if their candidate loses the election. The price of the political futures varies during the election campaign.

Since it is of the nature of gambling, it is banned in many countries. In India, it is called Satta Bazar, and is illegal.
