Qutbuddin Aibak

Qutbuddin Aibak was a slave of Mohammed Ghori. He was made incharge of the areas conquered by Mohammed Ghori especially after the second battle of Tarain. He first ruled the area as Viceroy form 1192 to 1206. When Mohammed Ghori was murdered in 1206, he assumed independence and became a Muslim ruler in India.

He was a Sunni Muslim and founder of the Slave Dynasty. He got built or at least started the construction of Qutab Minar in Delhi. He died in 1210.
