São Paulo

São Paulo is a city in Brazil, the capital of the productive and healthy State of the same name, situated on a plain 310 miles West by South from Rio de Janeiro. It has pretty suburbs, electric light, &c, and has been a manufacturing town of Brazil producing chiefly minerals and coffee. It is the chief centre of the Brazilian coffee trade, and has manufactories of cotton, tobacco, spirits, &c. It is also the seat of a law-school.
