Sir Walter Alexander Raleigh

Sir Walter Alexander Raleigh (1861 - 1922) was an English scholar, poet, and author. He was also a Cambridge Apostle. After serving as professor of English Literature is several universities, he became the first holder of the Chair of English Literature at Oxford University in 1904. He was knighted in 1911. His notable works include Style (1897), Milton (1900) and Shakespeare (1907).
