St Bridget

St Bridget (453-523) was an Irish saint, born at Dundalk. He entered a monastery at the age of 14 years. He founded monasteries. His rank in Ireland is considered equivalent with St Patrick and St Columba. Festival, Feb. 1.

St Bridget is also the name of a Swedish saint flourished in the 14th century. He founded a new Order, and 72 monasteries of the Order.
