St Quentin

St Quentin is a manufacturing city of France, on the Somme, 95 miles North-East of Paris. It manufactures all kinds of cotton and woollen goods, machinery, paper, &c. It has a fine old Gothic church and town-hall. Here the French were routed by the Spaniards in 1557, and by the Germans in 1871.
