Stavanger

Stavanger is a flourishing city and port of Norway, on a fiord on the South-West coast, 100 miles South of Bergen. It is of modern aspect, having been largely rebuilt. It has two excellent harbours, a fine 11th-century Gothic cathedral, and is the centre of important coast fisheries.
