Sukumar Ghosh

Sukumar Ghosh was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born 28.11.1908, Subhadya, Daca, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Pratap Chandra Ghosh. He belonged to Bengal Volunteers Matriculate. He remained underground from 1932 to 1934. British Govt declared handsome reward for his arrest. Ultimately, hew was arrested in July, 1934 , in connection with Lebong Action and then Governor Anderson Shooting and sentenced to 14 years prison term and deported to the Andamns, where he participated in the second hunger strike. He was repatriated in January 1938. However, subsequently detained as a security prisoner after the completion of the prison term. He was released in 1946. His total jail period more than 12 years.
