Whimbrel

Whimbrel is a migratory bird of the family of curlews. This bird is found in northern Eurasia and northern Canada.

Whimbrel is one of the most widespread of the curlews with a trilling call and a stripped crown. It is smaller in the curlew family, has a shorter, decurved bill and strong supercilia. An adult whimbrel has average size of 37–47 cm in length, 75–90 cm in height, and 270–493 gram in weight. It is mainly greyish brown.
