Whip

Whip is an official of a political party.

A political party appoints a whip and gives him/her a responsibility and power to maintain discipline among its members to ensure their attendance and voting in parliament and participate in debates.

A whip can also be given responsibility and power to give instruction to its members to ensure their absence from the House.
