WILLIAM GREGORY

WILLIAM GREGORY (1803-1858), son of James Gregory (1753-1821); held successively the chairs of Chemistry in Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh; he translated Liebig's "Agricultural Chemistry," and was the first to advance and expound Liebig's theories.
