Adolphe Niel

Adolphe Niel (1802-1869) was French marshal, born at Muret. He entered the Engineers 1825, served in the Algerine War in 1835, before Rome in 1849, at Bomarsund in 1854, at Sebastopol in 1856, as well as at Magenta and Solferino, and finally became Minister of War.
