Samuel Bochart

Samuel Bochart (1599-1667) was a French Protestant divine, born at Rouen. He was pastor at Caen, a geographer and an Orientalist. He wrote a treatise on sacred geography. He was celebrated for a nine-days' discussion with the Jesuit Verin.
