Sir George Gabriel Stokes
Sir George Gabriel Stokes (1819-1903) was an Irish mathematician and physicist, born in Skreen, county Sligo. He was great in the department of mathematical physics, and had been specially devoted to the study of hydro-dynamics and the theory of light.
