The election to the Bihar Legislative Assembly is to be held in October-November 2025, and election dates would be announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the forthcoming weeks. The opposition has alleged that ECI has conspired with PM Narendra Modi and his BJP to conduct SIR for Bihar with the intention to de-enfranchise large number of voters who had not the 11 documents it has asked for. Later Supreme Court of India had to give direction to the ECI that Aadhaar should be considered as identity proof for the voter and their name be included in the voter list.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a bid to sensationalize and polarize the Bihar politics by repeatedly emphasizing that the Muslim infiltrators from Bangladesh will have to leave Bihar. Additionally, he goes on reminding how the opposition political parties’ platform was used to abuse his mother. He said that the mothers and sisters of Bihar will not forget their disrespect by the opposition. He has also alleged that the opposition INDIA bloc parties are protecting the illegal Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators.
It should be recalled that one man had called name of PM Modi with disrespectable terms also against his mother, on the platform of public meeting of the INDIA bloc. The accused has since been arrested. It should also be noted that no important leader of the INDIA bloc was present on the platform – neither the leader of the Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, nor RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who is the CM face of the INDIA bloc.
INDIA bloc has recently concluded their fortnight long “Vote Adhikar Rally” in the state that has attracted good response from the people. Nevertheless, the INDIA bloc will have very hard times in the coming weeks on account of the counter strategy of the BJP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become 75 years old on September 17, which is being celebrated by the Bihar BJP in a special way. To mark the PM Modi’s birth day, BJP’s Bihar unit has decided to screen a short film on his early life “Chalo Jeet Hain” (Come, let’s live), not only in the state party headquarter by also in all 243 Assembly constituencies today and in the coming days.
It has clearly given the signal to everyone, both in the NDA and in the Opposition camp, that election in Bihar will be contested in the name of PM Narendra Modi. It is just like election campaign. On September 16, 2025, the state BJP dispatched 243 vans to the Assembly constituencies from the capital city Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. BJP State president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, Health Minister Mangal Pandey and Union Minister Nityanand Rai flagged off the vans.
BJP’s state president Jaiswal said while flagging off the vans that “These chariots will work to spread the message of service and dedication through the film ‘Chalo Jeete Hain’ , based on the inspirational childhood of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in all the Assembly constituencies, so that every citizen can take inspiration from his life full of service, struggle and determination.” The chariots are likely to reach every corner of Bihar and the film will be screened at over 50,000 places.
INDIA bloc, after the conclusion of their “Vote Adhikar Yatra”, has been planning a comprehensive strategy to take on the BJP. The strategy will not only include the more joint public rallies but also early seat sharing arrangement among them. It is considered important because in the 2020 elections, the winning margin on as many as 35 seats was less than 3,000 or under 1 per cent of the valid votes polled.
The INDIA bloc leaders are already concerned about the additions and deletions in the Draft Electoral Roll under SIR. They suspect that a small number of addition and deletion in the voters’ list may impact their electoral prospect in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly Elections.
Currently, at the ground level, political situation is fluid, and public opinions are vacillating, sometimes in favour of the BJP and sometimes in favour of the INDIA bloc. It means both the camp in the fray – the ruling establishment and the Opposition, can’t take the voters guaranteed. They have to work hard to ensure win. (IPA Service)
PM Narendra Modi will be NDA Mascot for Bihar Polls, Not CM Nitish Kumar
State BJP Intensifies Campaign Coinciding with PM’s Birthday Celebrations
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2025-09-17 12:57
As Bihar is nearing close to the publication of final Electoral Roll after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on September 30, 2025, the politics in the state is being sensationalized by the BJP on the issue of women’s pride and Muslim infiltration issues, while the Opposition INDIA bloc is trying to sensitize the disadvantaged classes of people, including OBCs, Dalits, and minorities. Additionally, CM Nitish Kumar is being marginalized by the BJP in NDA alliance. BJP has signalled that PM Narendra Modi will be mascot of the NDA during election campaign, not CM Nitish Kumar, though is their CM face.
