NOT AGAINST ALL KUKIS, SAYS ARAMBAI TENGGOL LEADER MUNINDRO MANGANG

MANIPUR GOVERNOR AJAY BHALLA DIRECTED ‘ARMS RECOVERY INITIATIVE LAUDABLE'
Rabindra Nath Sinha - 2025-03-07 13:00
There has been a hardening of postures of the two warring sides in Manipur since Union home minister Amit Shah issued certain strongly-worded directives after a security situation review meeting on March 1. This meeting was attended, among others, by Governor Ajay Bhalla, who is in command since the state was brought under President’s rule on February 13 and the Assembly was kept under suspended animation. Perhaps, the toughest of the directives was that people must move freely on all Manipur roads from March 8, Saturday. Recovery of looted arms and ammunition by the extended deadline of March 6 and expeditious fencing of entry points from Myanmar too were part of Shah’s fiat list.

Three things must not be allowed to represent Hinduism. First, “Sarva dosh hare Laxmi”, an old Sanskrit phrase which means “Goddess Laxmi conceals all faults”. Second, “Ram naamki loot hai, loot sako so loot; Ant samay pachhtayega jab pran jayega chhoot” which means “anyone who has capacity must loot Ram’s name put on for loot, or else repent when dead”. And the third, “Heaven is secured by a mere dip into the Ganges”.

SANGH TO HOLD ‘PRATINIDHI SABHA’ TO EVOLVE STRATEGY FOR ‘AWAKENING HINDUS’

IN ITS CENTENARY YEAR, RSS LEADERSHIP TO AMP UP COMMUNAL POLARISATION
Arun Srivastava - 2025-03-07 11:49
'Mission Hindutva Awakening' could not be accomplished even during the centenary year of RSS and still appears to be an elusive task, notwithstanding Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders putting their best to communalise and polarise the Indian social structure. The failure of the saffron ecosystem to give shape to their project, turning India into a Hindu Rashtra, has unnerved the RSS leadership.

TAHAWWUR RANA FACES PRISONER'S DILEMMA WITH EXTRADITION CONFIRMED

DESPITE FEARS OF TORTURE IN INDIA, SCOTUS DECLINED HIS EMERGENCY APPEAL
Sushil Kutty - 2025-03-07 11:47
Who all know 26/11 accused David Coleman Headley would also know Tahawwur Rana. The United States, which holds both accused in prisons there, isn't willing to give up Headley, but is okay with Rana getting a one-way ticket to the tortuous Indian prison system, which isn't something to write home about. With Donald Trump back in the Oval Office, US could have stopped Tahawwur Rana's extradition, but Trump's friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the "Pakistani" shifted to an Indian prison ASAP.
Women's Day 2025

WOMEN IN URBAN SETTLEMENTS ARE BATTLING INTERSECTIONAL CHALLENGES

SURVIVING THE CITY IS A HERCULEAN TASK FOR THE AVERAGE FEMALE WORKER
Raju Kumar - 2025-03-07 11:40
The 2025 International Women’s Day, themed ‘Accelerate Action,’ serves as a reminder of the urgent and effective measures needed to advance women’s empowerment. Women residing in urban slums continue to struggle for their rights, security, and aspirations. However, their struggles are exacerbated by social, political, and economic challenges, as well as societal and familial indifference. A closer look at the realities of women living in these settlements, which have expanded into metro cities, reveals that their struggles are not just limited to poverty and lack of resources. Instead, they are deeply intertwined with inequality, discrimination, migration, and socio-political neglect. In light of these realities, the 2025 International Women’s Day emphasizes the need for immediate and decisive action on women's empowerment.

DECADE AFTER UNGA PLEDGED 'ZERO HUNGER', WHERE DOES INDIA STAND?

MUST PAY HEED TO NOBEL LAUREATE AMARTYA SEN’S RIGHTS-BASED APPROACH
Mohan V Katarki - 2025-03-07 11:37
Zero hunger may sound metaphorical. However, as one of the seventeen targeted Sustainable Development Goals (‘SDG’) declared in 2015 by the General Assembly of the United Nations ‘Zero Hunger’ conveys the seriousness with which the global community has sought to address global food security and eliminate hunger by 2030. But where are we in 2025?

VICIOUS COMMUNAL ATTACKS BY SANGH PARIVAR ACTIVISTS MUST BE STOPPED

DEMOCRATIC FORCES MUST ASSERT THAT JUSTICE IS DONE TO THE VICTIMS OF OUTRAGE
P. Sudhir - 2025-03-06 11:54
The communal poison regularly injected into the body politic by the Sangh Parivar and its growing numbers of supporters among common people and the administration has been responsible for numerous attacks on Muslims. Most tragically, recent incidents have shown that children and infants are now being made the targets of these attacks.

AAP GOVERNMENT’S SCHEME HAD TARGETED TO GIVE BENEFIT TO AROUND 38 LAKH
Dr. Gyan Pathak - 2025-03-06 11:51
BJP led Delhi government is almost ready to launch Mahila Samriddhi Scheme on March 8, on the occasion of International women’s day. During the Vidhan Sabha election, BJP had promised women of Delhi to give Rs 2,500 per month, as against the AAP government’s scheme of giving assistance of Rs 1000 per month, and against a promise by AAP to raise it to Rs 2100 per month if they would come to power. Women predominantly voted to BJP which came to power, but 50 per cent of eligible women would lose their eligibility under BJP’s new eligibility criteria.
